After graduating from the University of Queensland in 2012 with Honours, Dr Kate started her veterinary career in a true Mixed Animal Practice in Bundaberg. After gaining important skills in both small animal and farm animal veterinary medicine, Kate left her country roots and headed overseas to live and work as a locum vet throughout the UK. After 2 years of experiencing work in multiple clinics and travelling the world, the lure of her family and friends and a bit of sunshine brought her home to Australia where she was quickly snapped up at Noosa District Animal Hospital after popping in for some locum work. She soon found herself drawn to Noosa’s sister clinic, Peregian Springs Veterinary Surgery, where its small-town feel and community spirit felt like home!
After accepting the Lead Vet role here, we are excited to have such an experienced, compassionate and enthusiastic Vet leading our team, and with her special interest in Ophthalmology, your pet’s eyes are in good hands!
Kate owns a beautiful Border Collie named Ollie who is never far from her side and loves coming to work with her daily.
Barbara graduated from the University of Queensland in 1996 and has worked solely in Small Animal Practice, including 12 years in the UK. In 2015 Barb and her husband were lucky enough to move from Melbourne to Peregian Springs to work, live and enjoy life on the Sunny Coast and we were so delighted to have her come onboard. Due to her husband’s allergies Barb doesn’t have any pets at the moment …… must be love! However, she loves playing ‘Aunty’ to the many beloved pets who come through our doors.
Haley graduated from the University of Queensland in 2002 and started her career in mixed practice in Grafton, NSW, before heading to the UK as a locum and to travel. After two years she came back home to family, friends and a great job on the Sunshine Coast, where she has pretty much remained since. Life is busy with three small children, but she still finds time to enjoy her kelpie Cooper, burmese cat Charlie and the latest addition, a horse called Nancy.
Angela graduated from Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland in 2001. Following graduation, she spent the next few years working in mixed practice in Mackay before moving to the U.K for work and travel opportunities. She arrived back in Brisbane a few years later and has been busy ever since honing her skills as a small animal vet. When not at work she can be found attempting to learn to surf on one of our beautiful Sunshine Coast beaches or spending time with her family and her crazy Labrador, Juno.
Jo started her animal career as an equestrian coach and competition rider in the UK. In 2012 she made the exciting move to Australia with her husband and worked as a Vet Nurse on the Mornington Peninsula before heading up to the beautiful Sunny Coast in 2015. It took just one visit to convince her it was the best place to be!
When she’s not at the clinic, Jo spends all her time with her two rescue greyhounds, Finn and Emmy, who are more than happy to spend the day lounging on the sofa.

Being born and raised in South Africa, Dion had the kind of introduction into a career in the care of animals that Australian trained vets only get to dream about. As a school leaver, Dion studied Nature Conservation, and worked for 3 years for the Natal Parks Board as a ranger, working amongst the amazing wildlife of Africa on land and at sea. Dion’s exciting experiences include getting up close and personal with Great White Sharks and Seals off the South African Coast, whilst participating in the tagging and monitoring of these magnificent creatures.
Dion completed his Veterinary degree and went on to work in large and small animal practices in South Africa, the UK, and NZ before settling on the Sunshine Coast with his young family. Their home is a menagerie of creatures, with birds and dogs, and a blue tongue lizard, which Dion and his daughters reared after rescuing it from a roadside as an injured baby. Dion is an avid water sportsman; he has solo swum the English Channel and is now a keen kite boarder.
Dion is passionate about surgery, and in 2011, after rigorous written and oral examinations, he gained his Membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons, in Small Animal Surgery.
